How we qualify, test and release every lot
Our quality program covers four things: who we buy from, how each lot is tested, how results are documented, and when a lot can be released. This page explains each one.

High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
HPLC separates a sample into its components and measures each one as it leaves the column. Purity is reported as the area of the main peak as a percentage of all detected peaks, at a stated wavelength.
Each certificate shows the method conditions and the chromatogram, so you can see the result as well as the number.
What it measures
Relative purity of the main compound against related impurities.
What you get
Purity %, chromatogram, column, mobile phase and detection wavelength.

Mass spectrometry (MS)
Purity alone does not prove a sample is the right molecule. Mass spectrometry measures the molecular mass of the main component and compares it with the expected mass of the target sequence.
What it measures
Observed molecular mass against the theoretical mass.
How it is used
A lot whose identity does not match is not released.
From received lot to released lot
- 1
Receive and quarantine
Incoming lots are logged by lot number and held until testing is complete.
- 2
Test
Samples are tested for purity and identity, plus endotoxin or residual solvents where listed for that lot.
- 3
Review
Results are checked against the specification for that product before release.
- 4
Release and publish
Released lots are labeled with their lot number and linked to their certificate of analysis.

Who we buy from, and how we check them
Before we list a material, the supplier goes through a documented qualification. We keep those records on file and review suppliers again when a problem is found or a process changes.
Documentation review
Specifications, sample certificates and method information for each material.
Independent confirmation
Supplier results are checked against our own lot testing before release.
Ongoing review
Deviations, complaints and out-of-specification results trigger a supplier review.
What every certificate of analysis shows
Each certificate is issued for one lot. Match the lot number on your vial label to the lot number on the certificate.
Lot number and test date
Ties the result to the material you received.
Method and result
Each test shows how it was run and what was found.
Testing laboratory
The laboratory that ran the analysis is named on the report.
Frequently asked questions
Is HPLC purity the same as "how much peptide is in the vial"?
No. HPLC purity is the share of the main compound among the components the detector sees. Net content (how much material is in the vial) is a separate measurement and is shown separately when reported.
Why test identity as well as purity?
A sample can be very pure and still be the wrong molecule. Mass spectrometry confirms the molecular mass matches the target.
Is every lot tested for endotoxin and residual solvents?
Not always. Where a lot has been tested, the result is listed in the Endotoxin or Residual Solvent library. If you need data that is not listed, contact us with the lot number.
Where do I find the certificate for my vial?
Use the lot number printed on the label to search the Testing Library, or contact us and we will email the certificate.
